Many of us will have heard by now how Evighet Skincare’s Ice Wine is good for the skin. More specifically, here’s a breakdown of how it actually improves your skin tone and nature.
Erases fine lines
The Swiss Ice Wine, which may only be harvested by hand at minus 8 degrees, is well known for its anti-aging properties. Containing concentrated amounts of skin enhancing nutrients, it works wonders in erasing fine lines and wrinkles.
Instant firming of skin
Another important active ingredient, the Tara Tree Extract is an exotic tree native only to the Peruvian Andes. Containing Vegetal Polysaccharide, a skin tightening complex, it is responsible for the instant firming effect you feel right after use.
Nourishment and repair
Made only from exquisite Vidal Blanc and Pinot Noir grapes, the Ice Wine serum contains nourishing elements that penetrate deep into your skin to remove any traces of disrepair.
Smooth and supple skin
Evighet’s Ice Wine contains Hyaluronic Acid as a key ingredient. The beauty of this element lies in its ability to retain moisture. In fact, it has the capacity to hold more moisture than any other natural or synthetic polymer. Which explains why your skin feels extraordinarily supple after use. One gram of Hyaluronic Acid can hold up to six liters of water. You’ll experience plumper skin and less visible fine lines as more moisture works to replenish your skin.
Widely known for its soothing, calming and anti-inflammatory properties, Aloe Vera Extracts fused with the serum offer you a serene sense of healing and rejuvenation. Dab gently onto your skin, you’ll feel therapeutic effectiveness motioning right through your skin.
Healing and relaxation
As mentioned in the previous point, Aloe Vera Extracts works well with Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, another ingredient that’s included in the serum, to bring about a comforting sense of healing and relaxation.
Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, a botanical ingredient, works to improve appearance of your skin by eliminating flakiness and restoring suppleness. It also functions as an anti-irritant with anti-inflammatory and skin soothing properties, leaving your skin clean, protected and comfortable.
The serum also contains Diacetyl Bodine, an important agent in restoring radiance by balancing and lightening your skin tone. Detecting the uneven spots on your skin, the ingredient spreads itself evenly and works only on areas that require lightening or adjustments.
Pigmentation? No problem. Diacetyl Bodine is an effective anti-pigmentation agent as well. Go ahead, Google it.
Since age spots is a form of pigmentation. So yep, it does work well in preventing these spots as well. The molecular structure of Diacetyl Bodine resembles that of stress receptors, which leads to its ability to simultaneously block stress receptors and inhibit the body’s melanin production, the main cause of skin pigmentation.
Ever since ice wine has been tested positive for anti-aging and skin nourishment, more and more users have been picking up ice wine based facial serums for their daily use.
While most users generally know about the benefits Ice Wine, many still lack basic knowledge on how exactly ice wine may help one attain his or her skincare goals.
The following are some tips on how to maximise the positive effects of ice wine in skincare products.
1. Cleanse thoroughly before use
Always make sure to clean your skin surface gently and thoroughly before application. Rinse amply and use a suitable and mild cleanser. This lowers the potential of foreign materials contaminating and lowering the effects of your Ice Wine serum. Keep in mind to avoid cleaning your face too abrasively or with too much force. Optionally follow up with a toner after cleansing.
2. Apply medication, if any
For users with existing medicated creams for acne etc, make sure to apply them first before applying your Ice Wine serum. This is to ensure the medication is absorbed more thoroughly by the skin first for maximum healing effects. Any other beauty products come secondary.
3. Apply moisturizer (optional)
Serums tend to dry faster. As a result, moisturizers are usually applied after the serum. In Ice Wine’s case, however, you may apply the moisturizer first because Ice Wine already consists of some moisturizing effects. Results will also be more prominent as there is no additional layer of moisturizer to dilute the effects of Ice Wine. Although moisturizers by themselves do not consist of any skin enhancement properties, they help the skin remain hydrated and acts as a barrier against foreign materials. Moisturizers also play a part in giving your skin a dewy, youthful look that so many sought after!
4. Apply the serum
In the sequence, it is time to apply your Ice Wine serum. Make sure to only complete this step after applying your moisturizer, as mentioned in the previous point. Try not to rush the steps. If a moisturizer has been applied, allow some time for it to settle before the serum is apply. This is to ensure the effects of Ice Wine is not diluted. After applying the serum, again allow some time for it to get fully absorbed before moving on to the next step.
5. Protect your skin with sunscreen for best result
While there have been many debates on this, as a general rule apply your sunscreen after your moisturizer if your sunscreen is a physical one. If your sunscreen is a chemical one, apply it before applying your moisturizer. There are no hard and fast rules on this though, you may reverse the order without causing too much difference. Your sunscreen too will work well with your Ice Wine serum for added protection.
6. Nourish your eyes, if you’ve eye creams
If you are following these steps in the evening, you may skip the sunscreen part and go right into applying your eye cream, if any. Gently dap your eye area with your ring finger, reason being it being the least forceful. The skin around the eye area tends to be thinnest and most sensitive.
7. Follow the light to heavy rule
One handy rule to remember when using skincare products is to always apply the lightest products first, followed by the heavier ones in sequence. The lighter products tend to water based while oil based products scale to the heavier side. If done incorrectly in the reverse sequence, chances are the lighter products will never be able to penetrate the heavier products on the base. Imagine the waste!
8. Be patient
When you are layering skincare products, do ensure you are giving each product enough time to penetrate and get absorbed by your skin. Sometimes it is common to be in a rush, but skipping steps or quickly saturating your skin with multiple products will probably do more harm than good. So make sure to be patient! Staying beautiful, after all, requires time and effort. Good things are never too easy.
